I am Tohmas, a Talkative Nano who Tells Tales, and this is a Postcard from the Ninth World.
A group of Numenera hunters–Haro the Nano, the Glaives Karner, and Tanasia, and the Lattimore Yeti Foan–have gathered in the city of Qi to seek their fortunes.
They have been approached by Evara Madan, a member of the city council of Qi. She has given them a bounty contract on a man known as Caidan Phorr. She has provided very little information on him, only a basic description and the fact that he almost always wears a short, green cloak and wields a weapon that is a telescoping cylinder. She wants him returned to Qi. He does not have to be alive when they return him but his head, at least, must be intact.
The only information they can find is that Phorr left Qi several days before, with a caravan that was heading south towards Rarmon, in the Pythoran Empire. The hunters, several of whom have reasons of their own for leaving Qi, have traveled south in pursuit.
